SCOTT Sports SA acquired Bergamont Fahrrad Vertrieb GmbH, Hamburg, including its international activities, from BMC Group Holding AG. With the sale, the BMC Group strengthens its focus in the sports segment. At the same time, SCOTT strengthens its presence and growth potential in the bicycle arena with the strong Bergamont brand, especially in the important DACH markets.
BMC Group specializes in the development and worldwide distribution of racing bikes, mountain bikes and lifestyle bikes with the BMC brand. Under the brand Stromer, innovative e-bikes are developed and marketed worldwide. SCOTT Sports SA is a sporting goods manufacturer focused on the bicycle, winter sports, motorsports and running sports business. The assortment of bicycles ranges from racing and mountain bicycles, to touring and everyday bicycles. With the successful Bergamont brand, this segment will be ideally complemented, in particular in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Furthermore, the potential for these countries to grow into main markets will rise.
