IMAP advises the shareholders of MIAS Group on the sale to Jungheinrich

Jungheinrich AG is further expanding its leading position as a logistics systems provider. To this end, Jungheinrich has signed an agreement on the acquisition of MIAS Group with its owners.

The acquisition is a further milestone in the Jungheinrich Group's growth strategy and a major step towards the worldwide expansion of the rapidly expanding logistics systems business. With the acquisition of MIAS Group, Jungheinrich expands its technology portfolio in the field of automated warehousing solutions. "With MIAS Group, we will continue to expand our logistics systems business substantially," said Hans-Georg Frey, Chairman of the Board of Management of Jungheinrich AG.

MIAS Group, headquartered in Munich, is an internationally active mechanical engineering company in the field of storage and transport technology with  components storage and retrieval machines, as well as load handling equipment. In the 2014 financial year, the fast-growing group of companies achieved revenues of over €40 m. MIAS employs more than 300 people at five locations in Germany, Hungary, China, the USA and Italy.

After 30 years of entrepreneurial activity, the owner family of MIAS Group has decided to sell the company to an internationally well-positioned, strategic partner and thus secure further growth in the long term. MIAS will be integrated into Jungheinrich AG's Logistics Systems division and will continue to offer its products independently under the MIAS brand. The previous management of MIAS Group with Wolfgang Büttner and Dr. Johannes Fottner will continue to run the company following the acquisition by Jungheinrich. Wolfgang Büttner said: "In a rapidly changing international competitive environment, this transaction is an important step for the continuous development of MIAS Group."
