Rotterdam - The Eurofiber Group has reached agreement with the shareholders of Dataplace to acquire 100% of the shares. With this acquisition, Eurofiber is adding a second data center. The company strengthens its position in the regional data center market. The owner and founder of Dataplace, Gerben van der Veen, will from now on lead the data center activities within the Eurofiber Group.
Dataplace was assisted in the transaction by, among others, the corporate finance experts of IMAP Netherlands.

Dataplace has been operating a regional TIER III data center in Alblasserdam since the beginning of 2011. The data center, which focuses on the Randstad and the Rijnmond area, is a perfect complement to Eurofiber's existing data center activities in the Utrecht region. Both data centers are ideally spaced to act as twin locations. Both new and existing customers of Dataplace and Eurofiber will benefit from this joining of forces. Given the ambition of the Dataplace shareholders, it was extremely important that the company was sold to a party that could ensure organic growth and continuity from the existing base.

Eurofiber Group is a supplier of high-quality digital infrastructure. With its own fiber optic network and secure data centers, Eurofiber offers companies, governments and non-profit organizations a future solid infrastructure. Since its foundation in 2000, Eurofiber has been expanding its fiber optic network continuously. With more than 25,000 kilometers of fiber, connecting many end customers and more than 100 data centers, the network extends across the Netherlands and Belgium to Germany.

IMAP Netherlands, a corporate finance specialist with offices in Rotterdam and Amsterdam, assisted the shareholders of Dataplace with the transaction. The M&A consultants of the firm offer clients financial and strategic corporate finance advice, and focus primarily on medium-sized companies. Dataplace was assisted by Remco Schouten, Wiebecor Wijbrandi and Daan Zandbergen (IMAP Netherlands) and Jeroen Bleeker (Janssen Broekhuysen Advocaten). Maurits de Haan and Tessa Rozendal (Houthoff Buruma) advised buyer Eurofiber Group.
