IMAP conference in Bogotá - consolidation lessons from Multilatinas

Multilatinas are leading Latin American companies that have consolidating their presence and competitive advantage in their respective local markets and have expanded to other markets in the region, but also outside of Latam to markets such as the United States or Europe. The panel discussed the challenges, risks and mitigants Multilatinas face when they enter M&A transactions to expand their business across the region and beyond. The panelists, all senior business professionals from Multilatinas, are from left to right; Jonathan Nickell, Vice President of Strategy and Business Development for Organizaión Corona; Esteban Giraldo, President Of Latam Centro at Grupo Bimbo; Diego Echave, Director of M&A at Kaluz; and Andrés Baracaldo Sarmiento, Vice President of Business Development at ISA.

 

Mauricio Salgar, Managing Director at Advent International Colombia presented a case study on Biotoscana on how to create value from an international expansion strategy.

 

The Symposium, organized by host firm Inverlink, is part of the IMAP Fall Conference program in Bogota, Colombia on October 19 - 21, attended by over 90 delegates from across IMAP. The focus of the conference is exploring M&A opportunities in Latin American and on creating cross-border and inter-regional collaboration.​
