IMAP Analysts & Associates meet in Budapest

Over 50 delegates from IMAP offices throughout Europe, Asia, Latin America and the US, attended the Analysts and Associates Meeting held in Budapest from 19-20 September.

IMAP partner firm, Concorde MB Partners, prepared and presented a program, which commenced on the Thursday evening in the form of a networking session, and was followed by a full program on Friday that culminated in a 3 hour walking city tour of enchanting central Budapest.

Friday’s session was opened by IMAP Chairman, Jurgis Oniunas, who implored the delegates to find the real story behind the world’s newspaper headlines and stay abreast of world economic and sector disruption trends.

Krisztián Orbán,  Founder and Managing Partner of Oriens, one of Europe’s top performing private equity funds, then outlined critical steps in building relationships with Private Equity teams.

This was followed by a session with David Kean, who is acknowledged as one of the world’s most authoritative business development practitioners and has been a “pitch doctor”, helping organisations win large mandates around the world. David ran an entertaining and first class session on communication skills, focussing on “how to get on with people that aren’t like you”.

There is wide acknowledgment from across the IMAP teams, that as Associates and Analysts in the mid market are exposed to clients very early on in their careers, it is crucial to develop excellent relationship management and communication skills as early as possible through events such as these, to complement their technical training.

This year’s delegates demonstrated the same energy for investing time in global partnerships, which continues to go from strength to strength with each annual meeting.
