Mario Hugo Azulay

Mario Hugo Azulay is President of Mario Hugo Azulay & Asociados S.A. (IMAP Argentina) which he founded in 1981. He began his career at the economic research department of Esso Argentina, where he reached the position of Manager of Economic and Financial Analysis. He later became Chief Financial Officer at General Motors Argentina and Director of the Techint Group, a leading Italo-Argentine construction and manufacturing conglomerate.

He has participated in the development of complex projects in countries such as Perú, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia and Australia. In 1978 he was designated Director in charge of the global operations of Banco Francés del Río de la Plata in Buenos Aires. He was a Member of the Board of the Bank of New York, Buenos Aires branch until 1993 and during the last decade, he has been a member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Audit Committee of Siderar, a leading Argentinian steel company affiliated to the Techint Group.

Mario's broad experience stems not only from his M&A practice, but also from his activity as a Key Executive of important financial Institutions, including Banco Francés del Río de la Plata, Bank of New York (in Argentina) and industrial companies.

His expertise in valuation methods and debt restructuring is widely recognized and his sector specialties include: Industrials, Automotive, Banking, Steel and Construction.

Mario holds an MBA from the University of Buenos Aires and is a Public Accountant. From 1995 to 2008 he was a Professor of Financial Administration at post-graduate level at the University of Buenos Aires.
