IMAP advises Rotkäppchen-Mumm on the acquisition of the Italian TOP DOCG Prosecco brand Ruggeri.

Rotkäppchen-Mumm Sektkellereien GmbH acquires the prestigious Italian Prosecco Specialist Ruggeri & C. S.p.A, well known for their award winning Proseccos. With the acquisition of the traditional brand, Rotkäppchen-Mumm expands its product portfolio into the Prosecco segment and continues its ongoing internationalization of the company. Ruggeri was founded by Gustino Bisol and managed by the founding family up until now. They will continue to support the company on various topics of business. The purchasing price will not be disclosed.

Ruggeri & C. S.p.A, located in Valdobbiadene (Veneto), is one of the leading and best-known Italian Prosecco-Specialists. Over the years, the Ruggeri brand has been continuously awarded by the international wine expert community. Only recently, Gustino B., one of the company’s premium DOCG Proseccos, was selected as Italy’s best sparkling wine („Bollicine dell´anno 2017“) – an award, which for the first time, was given to a Prosecco.

The family business Rotkäppchen-Mumm Sektkellereien GmbH, Freyburg (Unstrut), is one of the leading producers and marketers of sparkling wine, liquors and sparkling beverages containing wine and wines. Market leader in the German sparkling wine and liquors market, with 608 employees located across five sites in Germany, in 2015 it generated a turnover of €911 million and sales of 253 million bottles.
